Health Care for Seniors
Medicare is a federal health insurance program for people 65 years of age or older. It pays for much of your health care, but not all of it. Some cost that may not be covered could be, prescription drugs, deductibles, coinsurance, long term care, etc.
Medicare Supplements and Long Term Care insurance are health insurance policies sold by private heath insurance companies to fill the "gaps" in Medicare coverage. It is important to compare Medicare Supplement policies because cost can vary widely. REMEMBER, Medicare Supplement plans (also called Medigap plans) have been standardized by Medicare. For example, if companies offer the Plan "F" the benefits are exactly the same regardless of which company offers it. The difference however, could be the cost and service.
